What is Internal Medicine?
Internal medicine is a primary care specialty that focuses on complex adult medical problems. An Internist reviews and can competently handle most medical issues that are presented: Diabetes, High Cholesterol, High Blood pressure, Metabolic syndrome, Heart disease, Vascular disease, Neurological conditions, Migraines, Asthma, and Depression to mention a few. Internal medicine practitioners will take more time and handle more complex problems than most physicians, as a result of their specialty training.

Foothills Primary Care provides specialist care in the following areas: medical weight loss, allergy testing and treatment, and diabetes management.
In regards to medical weight loss, with two-thirds of Americans overweight and obese and millions diagnosed with diabetes and other ailments every year due to obesity, action has to be taken. Dr. Riske feels the answer to this overwhelming and costly problem does not necessarily lie in more costly and expensive medications for patients. Rather, he feels that a comprehensive weight loss plan where the patient is guided and supported by a team of providers, registered nurses, fitness trainers and nutrition experts is a far more valuable and cost effective solution to the problem.
